Evening Update @ 9 pm (1 hr earlier! after much furious typing)
The dancers are all wearing the same outfits regardless of race and age. It's heartwarming to see everyone dancing in unison, wide smiles plastered on their faces :D
The kids are all standing up while watching the Parade. Haha, they're so excited that none of them can sit still. Majority of them are waving their flags in their exuberance too!
The Nonya performers are all preparing to enter the limelight. Entire families are taking part in this year's Parade together! Come together, reaching out, reaching up!
These two kids are really 小娘惹. Hahaha!
Some of the performers posing for a photo below. Really enthusiastic people, always ready to share their joy with others :) No complaints from them whatsoever!
The ladies in the photo below are just reminding themselves of the dance sequences. Got to put their best foot forward!
Awaiting their turn to board the stage. Haha, he's grinning from ear to ear :)
Some brilliant fireworks to celebrate the success of our NE2!
It's really heartwarming to see some physically disabled kids and wheel-chair bound elderlies enjoying themselves completely during today's NE. Their obvious joy, unfettered, unrestricted, invariably brought smiles to our faces too. So glad to see that they're enjoying themselves so much! (P.S. We didn't want to place their photos online, to respect their wish for anonymity.)
Every rehearsal would always end with laughter, joy, smiles and everyone would return home, feeling satisfied and contented. Today's no exception.
Congrats, everyone, for this successful NE2!

Afternoon Update @ 6pm
The preparations are underway! We can see that much activity is going on at the F1 Pit Building and the Floating Platform. At the F1 Pit area, we see the performers getting their make-up.
At the Platform, the hosts have just arrived and are taking their places to practise. Mark Lee was still singing in Hokkien during one of the intervals. xD The hosts 'come together' for a small discussion after the practice to share their views.
This is quite a big device we see here to capture footages of the show. Cool!
While walking through the crowds of children, we spotted a group of students sporting very interesting hairstyles. It is pretty common to see them in red for their outfit. These students extend the national colours all the way to their heads!
This one here definitely has the most patriotic hairstyle we have seen so far. We present to you a whole national flag in his hair.
The shapes are very clear and he meekly shared with us that it was his uncle who used some hairsprays to create this impressive-looking hairstyle. I should get this on my head too, since I have quite a bit of white there already. ^^
Happily taking their meals, they gladly showed us what they are eating when the camera appears before them.
Woah! This boy brought along a poster he obtained previously (from many many years ago) and it actually contains the autographs of the pilots too.
Just take a look at the number of students coming onto the Platform. The show will be starting soon and we will be bringing you more insights into the show segment in the Night Update!
And we leave you with a video of the kids all revved up to enjoy the show! Stay with us to see more of the show!

Morning Update @ 1pm
NDP has been one heck of a journey for all those involved. With our journ filled with different colourful chapters, each has his or her own tale to tell, each has his or her own joy or sorrow to share. Likewise, our dear friend Singapore has her own story to relish. From her very humble beginnings to what she is today. From making the decision to be a part of NDP, to performing under the sheen of the bright lights on the floating platform stage. We all have been through a lot. But it's all been enjoyable and worth it. :)
Ever lost in this journey? Look at our familiar Singapore Flyer for directions. It points to the Floating Platform for lost NDP participants.
The long road the participants have to travel from the holding area to the Floating Platform
Today, we shall unveil to those curious minds out there what the 10 chapters of the Singapore story are, as depicted in this year's NDP. These chapters are based on different excerpts of our Pledge. We'll leave it to you for now to figure out what exactly each chapter is about. More will be revealed as NDP unfolds.haha. Anyway, here they are:
1. What Did He See? 2. Defending Our Homeland 3. Our Parade 4. The First Wave 5. Fast Forward 6. Against All Odds 7. When I Grow Up 8.Heart Land 9.Little Red Dot 10. What Do you See
Here's what caught our attention today! haha. We also managed to get our hands on some interesting props. Mix and match the props to their individual chapters if you can! But firstly, we decided to open our eyes wide with our hands and fingers. More like the eye of the platform! lol. Haha. Even props need a break from the rehearsals. The giant puppet, basking in lassitude under the sun, awaits his assistants to dress him up. Watch out for this globe at night. That's when it's beauty will shine forth. But for now, much preparations have to be done such that it'll look good at night.Ahh, the most important "prop" of all, the funpacks! The hardworking red ants have already started work early in the morning to make sure all funpacks are fullpacks! Many exquisite props. A house without a heart isn't a home, ya? It's the Singa! Our cute lion has an important role to play in the show! Btw, the head wasn't really pleasant to the olfactory senses so my friend decided not to put it on. But that doesn't mean lions reek of odour. We're a lion city, but we're clean, green and refreshing. haha. Robot from space? Curious? Watch the parade to find out! The ebullient children carrying the planes and gliding down the runway towards the platform. We're at the F1 pit again! The gallant soldiers alight from the bus! But before their mission begins, it's time for a H1N1 scan. We got the chance to take the flight of stiars up from the holding area to the 2nd floor. It's air-conditioned upstairs! We found another holding area for other uniforms groups up there.
A nice view of the F1 pit
Peeping into the room. That's what NDPeeps does! Well, peeping into behind-the-scenes of NDP. haha. Seems like the SOKA people have yet to arrive. That's why the room is locked.A petrol kiosk in the middle of nowhere? Guess what, it uses biofuel! The favourite fuel of the Old Chang Kee vehicle! Talk about going green. :) Today's spotlight for caterers is on Mr Bean! The bubbly girl at Mr Bean is setting up her stall to quench the thrists of many tired participants. One of us tried to be innovative by mixing the soya bean with the bandung to acheieve a more desirable effect. Come down to the marina platform to try it out, it's not bad. lol.And lets not forget these contractors who sedulously do their part to ensure the place is clean and beautiful for all of us. Simple jobs do go a long way in making a difference for everyone. :)

Today's our 2nd National Education (NE) Show. We're looking forward to sharing what's going to happen behind-the-scenes for today's rehearsal - the component practices, the dance formations, the thoughts and feelings of our tireless performers.. and of course, our pri 5 kids! Also, we'll be covering various chapters of our NDP show! There's lots of excitement in the air :)
As usual, we'll be having our updates at the following times: Morning Update @ 1pm Afternoon Update @ 6pm Evening Update @ 10 pm
