Parade and Ceremony finally unveiled their plans to the nation! This is kind of exciting, knowing what will happen come August. =D Interested? Read on!

This year's parade will start 45 mins later... For those lucky recipients of the NDP tickets, this means a cooler weather and for everyone else, this means a more compact/ intense celebrations... Hmm, an interesting first try, to start the celebrations later...

Instead of the separating Parade and Show into two sections (like previously), we are having a One Show concept. There will be ten chapters in the show, with each chapter drawing inspiration from the pledge. The first chapter begins with 'What did He see?' and ends with 'What do You See?'

Does 'What do You see?' sound familiar? If you are a regular visitor to our blog, you'd know that it is this year's NDP theme song. Hmm, the committee's being coy, unwilling to reveal much information. We'll have to wait till July 2 for the juicy details.

The marching contingents will have a City March Pass. Position yourself along these routes to watch the 23 contingents marching in sync! Do remember to cheer for them while they go past you; pretty sure they will be glad to know that you are appreciating the numerous hours they spend on the rehearsals. =)

'We have participants from all walks of life coming together on parade. It is really about one united people, a united Singapore, marching forward together,' said the chairman of the parade and ceremony committee, Colonel Chee.

We get to witness the Presidential Gun Salute, and Guard of Honour. We must really salute these people who have such iron will that they didn't fidget despite the sweltering weather. Impressive.

Here's a first: 25-Pounder Ceremonial Guns for the Presidential Gun Salute will be fired from the Marina Bay. The thunderous bangs caused almost every single spectator to cringe. My friends were asking me why I literally jumped upon hearing the first bang. Bit embarrassing...
Advice: Position yourself in a place where you can see both the Presidential Gun Salute, fireworks and marching contingents and plasma outdoor screens and...(It's really quite hard to find such a place, huh?) Failing that, you can always rely on NDPeeps to bring you whatever you missed after the event =)

Here are some random photos we took =) Just to share.
Comments, anybody?
