What does NDPeeps @ Facebook do?

We connect people. Our platform aims to reach out to more people and bring people together through our discussion boards, wall posts and by allowing people to upload their photos and videos. And spams too! (Some guffaws)

How do you feel about being a part of the New Media team?

It's a good chance to start a new media platform for the nation. It's a First!

How do you guys envision Facebook to reach out to Singaporeans?

We hope that Facebook will not only belong to the New Media community but to every Singaporean. And we hope that they (these Singaporeans) will help us to invite their friends and family to join us too.

What were some of the challenges you faced as part of the team?

Oh there were many challenges you know! We were people with little expertise when we started this. Meeting expectations, outsourcing, meeting deadlines were some challenges.

What about your most memorable moment?

When I was chosen to be IC of Facebook? Lol, kidding..It was probably when lots of people joined to become fans of our Facebook fanpage.

How do you feel about your fruits of labour?

Satisfied! We've got over 10,000 fans currently. But there's still much to be improved on. We look at the souls of Singaporeans, every soul matters, not the numbers(of fans). If one S'porean is not part of NDPeeps Facebook, Facebook is not big enough! We need to reach out to as many Singaporeans as possible...continues his glorious answer but is soon overwhelmed with laughter!

Describe yourself in a maximum of 3 sentences.

We are handsome, tall, short and fat and big-mouthed. Haha! Ok, we are actually a bunch of ordinary people who have decided to take on this initiative. We are proud to do this as it's something new, no one has done this before and we've come this far together!

What have you learnt from all this?

How to take stress and to understand others. And to empathise with our commanders' views (grins cheekily) .

What's NDP's significance to you?

It's our nation's birthday! We celebrate our nation's achievements..(Starts telling a long and detailed story of Singapore's achievements) haha..(ends with a drumroll)

What have you learnt about Singapore/Singaporeans from all this?

They are very friendly cos they've joined my facebook page! Ha! And I've learnt how much they love Singapore and the food here from what they've reflected on the fanpage.

How have you enjoyed this?

(Starts giggling) "Ok, i'll take that as a yes"
We have been able to see lots of different people with different visions, all coming to contribute to NDP.

Any last comments?

Of course there's been hardship while doing all this and lots of different views within the community itself. But it also proves that Singaporeans have different views but should unite together as 1 nation to settle our differences. ( Starts singing "One people, one nation")
