We were treated to a spectacular display by our fellow comrades from the Airforce, Army, Navy and Home Team today. This Total Defence Display (TDD) is simply Impressive!

TDD will provide a 3D experience in the air, in the bay and around the floating platform. So fret not if you didn't get to receive any NDP'09 tickets - you'll still get to see our military in action!

And stay tuned for a blog entry on the best place to view the Parade (even if you didn't get the tickets) :D

Coming back to the topic, TDD will be showcasing our operational readiness. What we saw was simply thrilling :) A chemical defence display, a boat chase sequence, a parade of tanks...

Guess what's even more exciting? A Chinook will hover above the waters of Marina Bay, causing it to froth and bubble. Chairman TDD, LTC Simon Lee, suggested - only half-jokingly - for participants to bring along their umbrellas to shelter themselves against the jets of waters. Exciting, ya'?

Sitting at seats of the floating platform, we were surrounded - ! - by soldiers and divers. It was surreal to see them upclose, their crisp uniforms and sharp gestures.

We can't even begin to imagine the depth of thinking, the length of training that actually went into this parade. Kudos to the people who imagined such complex sequences and those who actually carried it out...Thumbs up!

On NDP'09, expect some fast-paced action accompanied with various multimedia & pyrotechnic effects!
